Summer break is here, and if you’ve got a preschooler at home, you know the drill: the days are long, the “I’m bored”s are frequent, and maybe you just need the kids to do something that isn’t screen time.
So I put together a free printable Summer Activity Book designed just for preschoolers and beyond! (Maybe older toddlers too).
It’s packed with activities preschoolers actually love: coloring, tracing, matching, counting, and a little bit of scissor practice too. Grab your favorite colors and let’s dive in!
What’s Inside
This activity book is full of 16 summer-themed pages that sneak in real learning while your kid thinks they’re just having fun:
- Trace & Color – A dreamy popsicle to trace and color in
- Symmetry – Complete the other half of an ice cream cone
- The Shadow – Match each colorful dino to its matching shadow
- Missing Letters – Fill in the missing letters of the alphabet, popsicle-style
- Connect the Dots – Follow the numbers to reveal a little sailboat
- Find the Difference – Spot the odd one out among summer shapes
- Scissor Practice – Snip along the wavy lines to “cut” a balloon free
- Drawing Prompt – A blank canvas for your kid to draw their favorite toy
- Trace the Shapes – Practice circles, stars, hearts, and more
- Fish Counting – Count out fish and place them in the bowl, plus number cards to cut and match
- AND MORE!
There’s even a cover page with a spot for your child to write their name, so it feels like their very own book from page one.
Why I Made This
Preschoolers are working on so much at once — fine motor skills, letter recognition, counting, shapes, focus, patience. The best way to build those skills isn’t flashcards and worksheets, it’s play. These pages are designed to feel like play first, learning second, with just enough variety to hold a preschooler’s attention without overwhelming them.
Plus, it’s a lifesaver for:
- Rainy summer days
- Quiet time before nap
- Keeping little hands busy while you make dinner
- Road trips and restaurant waits
- A screen-free activity that still feels special
How to Use It
Just print it out at home on regular printer paper, grab some pencils or markers, and let your kiddo pick a page. There’s no set order — flip to whatever catches their eye first!
